Food diary

Privacy policy

Version 2 · Updated 20 October 2026

Food diary stores the records you choose to save through ChatGPT. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising or train AI models on it.

What we keep and why

Your sign-in identifier and profile name; meals, nutrition values, sources and notes; products, recipes, targets and weights; consent and connection records; limited security and service logs; and messages you send to support. Google Firebase handles sign-in, including your email and browser information. Passwords stay with Firebase. We receive your saved entries, not your full ChatGPT conversation.

We use this information to provide the diary under our agreement with you and to keep it secure and answer support requests in our legitimate interests. Food, nutrition and weight records may be health information; we store them with your explicit consent. You can refuse or withdraw consent by deleting your data or contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing.

Sharing and service providers

The website shows only your profile. ChatGPT connections you approve can read and change your records. Joining someone else's connection lets that chat access your diary too. Removing a connection stops future access, not copies already shared.

We use Contabo for hosting, Google Firebase for sign-in, OpenAI for the ChatGPT connection and Proton for support email. Access is for providing and supporting the service or where legally required. We use essential sign-in cookies and browser storage, not advertising trackers. Firebase sign-in is processed in the US; see its privacy information for transfer safeguards. Contact us for applicable transfer arrangements. OpenAI's handling follows your ChatGPT settings and its privacy policy.

Retention and deletion

Diary and account records remain until you select Settings → Delete my data. This removes them from our live database and requests deletion of your Firebase sign-in. Uninstalling the plugin does not delete your diary. We cannot delete copies already in ChatGPT.

Firebase keeps logged IP addresses for a few weeks; other authentication data may take up to 180 days to leave its live and backup systems after deletion. Service logs rotate at their storage limit. Support messages remain only as needed for your request or legal obligations. There are no diary backups; server failure can permanently lose records.

Your rights

You can request access, a copy, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability under applicable law. We may verify your identity and respond within one month, explaining any lawful extension within that month. You can complain to a data-protection authority, including CNPD.
